What's It All About

There will be no posting of profit and loss screen shots on this blog, just general day to day truths about my punting life and how good or bad I am (mostly bad)

No Joy

The month from hell continues:

British Grand Prix:

Qual/Winner Double - Lewis Hamilton - Lost
Qualifier Winner - Lewis Hamilton - Lost
Podium finish - Jenson Button - He needs a miracle from where he is on the grid
Winner - Lewis Hamilton - Another miracle required

The McLarens were just not at the party yesterday, the promised upgrades didn't produce and it looks like a Red Bull afternoon to me, the only possible bit of fun we may see is Lewis taking on the miserable Spanish git... come on Lewis!

I had a dabble on the horses with a looser in the 4:40 @ Ascot and I also backed Uruguay to win.. another looser

Eh this is betting as it really is guys and girls

Onwards and upwards as they say

World Cup final tonight and I will probably get involved at some point I have not decided yet which way I am going to loose my money.

A blogger that I have recently started to follow Spread Betting Beginner (financial spread betting) raises an interesting point HERE about betting against your self.

Food for thought for me the way my bets have been going.

Enjoy your Sunday all.

  1. I'd suggest that if your mindset is leading you to think that the point there is valid then perhaps the following is a more useful quote: " A strange game. The only winning move is not to play".

If there was any value to your original positions then you could just be experiencing a severe drawdown. However, if the value was marginal or didn't really exist then it could just be variance.

The worst thing you can do is start to oppose your own opinions because you'll soon change your methods with that knowledge in the back of your mind.

As for the F1 I think I will back Vettel from the start, it seems he has the newer and 'better' wing and unless his car falls apart he should romp it.

  2. I think you are right mate, it is the severe drawdown that has nailed me this month.

A break is now in order as the WC ends, I will not be getting involved in any football now until the Premiership starts.

The Grand Prix is all about the 1st corner me thinks, as you say Vettel looks nailed on but at 1.61?.. not for me way too low but will look a steel if he leads after the 1st lap.

    Good luck mate and enjoy.

  3. It seems you hit the nail on the head, the race was won in the first corner.

Right before the start I took a back of Vettel and sold it on straight after the market crashed further after it went live. No loss, but no great profit either, only had one eye on it (see my blog post) but it seemed one of the better races recently.

Unlucky on the buttom podium bet in the end and I hope you backed your opinion on Vettel's price with some hard earned.
