What's It All About

There will be no posting of profit and loss screen shots on this blog, just general day to day truths about my punting life and how good or bad I am (mostly bad)

No Happy Days For The Seasiders

I have taken a strong opinion that Blackpool look to be on a hiding to nothing coming into their 1st season in the Premiership, they can be backed @ 2.00 to finis bottom but I rather like the look of them to be bottom at Xmas which is available at 2.10 and wouldn't tie your dosh up for too long.
They have to face trips to Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea as well as taking on Man Utd at home all before Santa arrives and have only 7 home games out of the 17 to be played, this looks a good bet to me.

Ferrari F1 Farce!

To say that I am annoyed about the outcome of yesterdays race in Hockenheim would be a huge understatement.

All of my bets went belly up which of course hurt, but the blatant cheating by Ferrari and the subsequent pathetic $100,000 fine imposed by the FIA is what really got me worked up.

It has to be one of the most blatant cases of cheating seen in recent years, witnessed by millions of people.

The post race attempt at a cover up by Ferrari were laughable and in my opinion were an insults to people's intelligence.

If this had been McLaren you can be sure that the outcome woul dhave been completely different, it appears that Ferrari have a completely different set of rules than any of th eother teams.

I could go on and on but will call it quits for now.

I will sign off for today with what Rob Smedley should have said to Felipe Massa:

" Fernando is a spoilt miserable Spanish git and has thrown his toys out of the pram, can you please let him past other wise he won't play with us again"

German Grand Prix Final Bets

Well he royally messed it up 2 weeks ago at Silverstone but I am not expecting a repeat performance here and I think he will win in front of his home crowd.

He put in an Ace lap in qualifying to out gun the miserable Spaniard in the Ferrari (happy days) and now sits on Pole.

His team mate Mark Webber is back in 4th just behind the other Ferrari of Felipe Massa, had Webber been behind him in 2nd place I would be taking Vettel on but I think he will be too quick away from the Ferraris and will lead from lights out to chequered flag

I have taken him at 2.04 on Betfair which is in my opinion about the right price, I wouldn’t want to b backing him at odds on as he has proven to be less than reliable at holding onto leads.

Button has out qualified his team mate Hamilton and that should make for an interesting race for the 2 McLarens sitting 5 and 6 on the grid, my Button to podium bet is still alive but my Sutil points finish bet is looking a bit shaky as he has taken a 5 place grid drop for a gear box change, he will need to drive out of his skin to hit the points from 19th on the grid.

The other good bit of news is that Michael Schumacher is only 11th on the grid so hopefully he won’t be in the points.

The other bet that I have taken is Massa to post the fastest lap @ 20

All in all it should be a good race with Vettel bringing home the bacon and Button on the podium.

Hockenheim In The Rain

Well I have supported my opinion of Button to podium and taken a price of 3 (now out to 3.3)

Mark Iverson asked yesterday what my thought process was regarding this bet and it was as follows:

I have looked at his season so far and he has managed to win 2 races and podium 3 times including 3 of his last 4 races, he was very unlucky not to do it 2 weeks ago @ Silverstone. So in 50% of his races he has hit the podium therefore anything on offer above even money looks to be value to me, the problem is if you wait until after Qualifying the value goes (if he does well)

So it is belting it down with rain in Germany and I don't think we are going to gain a lot of information about any of the teams potential in P1

I have just had a quick scan of the Points Finish market and there is one that jumps out at me, the majority of the "top 10" drivers always hover around the 1.15 - 1.3 mark so I am a little surprised to see Adrian Sutil @ 1.6, he has finished in the points in 7 of the 10 races so far including the last 6, so I have taken some of that.

Well I am watching the practice sessions on line and will be back tomorrow with more possible bets if they present themselves.

Focus

This is what I have now decided to do and not before time.
I have been all over the place in the last few weeks with no real focus on what I should and should not be betting on, well this has now stopped.
With the new domestic football season approaching I will be concentrating my efforts on football and when the winter horse racing starts I will be getting my Back To Lay bets going again on the All Weather (more of this nearer the time but it was very successful last winter).

My football betting tanks are now in place and raring to go.

My journey into the world of financial spread betting was short lived, I have pulled the pin as I was finding it very hard to focus and believe that to be successful at it you need to be 100% committed and I am afraid I just cannot be that committed to it as it doesn't give me the enjoyment that I get from sports betting.

It is the German Grand Prix this weekend and I am determined to get on top of it and come away with a profit, the thinking head is now on and I have started to look at the early markets.

Jenson Button to Podium is available @ 3 on Betfair and this looks a decent shout, if only he could start to produce a good qualifying session, it looks as though he fully recognises this as he talks about it HERE I will continue to look at this event and hopefully come up with some decent bets by the weekend.

Loosing Day

Well not much going on at the moment but I still managed to loose a bit of money on the 2 Barney Curly runners yesterday, he owes me nothing so I am not too upset and if I had been sensible I would have traded out of the Maiden @ Yarmouth as it shortened up no end just before the off, I had it backed @ 19 + and it came into 8 but I misread this as a signal that the money was down and Barney would be counting the dollar, it wasn't to be.

I have almost concluded that Spread Betting on financial markets is extremely hard and very frustrating, it may not be for me after all.

My Big Brother 6th eviction bets looked to be over before they even started when Caoimhe walked leaving me with a loss but the Big Brother Gods were watching over me and we now have 3 of them up including my saver bet of Keeley and I think she is the one that is going, market is still suspended on Betfair which is very frustrating as the whole world knows who is up apart from the Betfair traders who wait until the house mates have been told, well they are not likely to be having any effect on the market are they.. DURR

So not too long to wait now until the new football season kicks off, it can't come quick enough for me, it feals like it was months ago when we were watching the final games of the season even though it wasn't that long about 10 weeks!

Very Quiet

There is not a lot happening in the punting world at the moment (well my punting world anyway)

I have had a dabble in the Big Brother Next Eviction market taking a punt on either Caoimhe or Keeley to go.
I am already involved in the outright market with a nice bet on Andrew @ 20's and an interest in Josie, currently nice and green all over.

Slightly surprised that Martin Jol looks to be heading to Fulham, it just shows what a huge draw the Premiership is, I think they have got themselves a very good manager there and if he is backed financially he may do well for them.

Roll on the weekend when we have the German Grand Prix to get stuck into.
